Love Letters

Encouraging the Foster Children of West Virginia

Our Goal

Love Letters is a ministry dedicated to reminding children in foster care that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved. Through simple yet powerful acts — writing letters, sharing scripture, offering small tokens, fasting, or praying — we can create sparks of encouragement that brighten a child’s journey during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.

A kind note tucked with a cheerful pencil, a peaceful scripture, or a handwritten prayer can plant seeds of hope in a young heart. Our mission is to pour truth and kindness into the lives of children in foster care, reminding them: You matter. You are loved. You are not forgotten.

How You Can Participate

We invite individuals, families, churches, and groups to write Love Letters and drop them off at Community Bridge. Your anonymous act of love can make an eternal impact.

For information about how to obtain a Love Letter Box for your church to participate email robin@wvcommunitybridge.org.

To ensure every Love Letter feels safe, joyful, and uplifting, please keep these loving guidelines in mind:

  • Stay Anonymous – Do not sign your name. Your kindness will speak for itself.

  • Shine Positivity – Focus on encouragement, joy, and hope.

  • Keep it Light – Use simple, cheerful words that would brighten a child’s heart.

  • Honor Their Story – Avoid sensitive topics or assumptions about what a child may be experiencing.

  • Protect Privacy – Do not include personal details about yourself.

  • Think of All Ages – Children in foster care range from toddlers to teens.

  • Safety First – All notes, letters, and small tokens are reviewed before delivery to ensure the safety of each child.

“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
2 Corinthians 3:2–3
